Zechariah 12 (vv. 1)

The prophecy opens with a majestic declaration of the LORD’s authority over Israel. He is presented as the one who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit within each person. The scene is cosmic and intimate at once: the vast sky above, the solid earth below, and humanity standing between them under the weight of a divine word.
