Zechariah 1 (vv. 9-13)

The riders report that they have gone throughout the earth and found the world at rest and in peace, yet Jerusalem still waits under the memory of judgment. In response, the angel of the LORD intercedes, asking how long mercy will be withheld from Jerusalem and Judah. The scene combines stillness and tension: heavenly messengers in quiet assembly, Zechariah listening, and the angel’s compassionate appeal rising toward the unseen LORD, whose answer comes as kind and comforting words.

말 탄 자들은 온 땅을 두루 다녀온 뒤 세상이 평온하고 조용하다고 보고하지만, 예루살렘은 여전히 심판의 기억 아래 놓여 있다. 이에 여호와의 사자가 예루살렘과 유다에 대한 자비가 언제까지 미뤄질 것인지 간구한다. 이 장면은 고요함과 긴장이 함께 흐른다. 하늘의 사자들이 조용히 모여 있고, 스가랴는 그 말을 듣고 있으며, 여호와의 사자의 긍휼 어린 호소가 보이지 않는 주께 올라가고, 주의 응답은 친절하고 위로하는 말씀으로 임한다.
