Romans 6 (vv. 6-11)

Paul declares that the old self has been crucified with Christ so that slavery to sin might be broken. Rather than showing graphic violence, the scene presents a symbolic cross on a barren hill at twilight, with broken chains at its base and a believer standing nearby, realizing that death no longer holds mastery and that life with Christ has begun.
