Romans 2 (vv. 1-5)

A self-assured man stands in a public place pointing accusingly at another person, as though acting as judge. Yet around him, subtle visual clues reveal that he is guilty of the same sins he condemns. Above and behind him, a gathering storm and a solemn heavenly light suggest God's true judgment, while his hardened expression reflects an unrepentant heart storing up wrath for the future.

한 자신만만한 남자가 공공장소에 서서 다른 사람을 향해 손가락질하며 마치 재판관처럼 행동한다. 그러나 그의 주변에는 그가 정죄하는 바로 그 죄들을 자신도 범하고 있음을 드러내는 미묘한 단서들이 보인다. 그의 위와 뒤에는 먹구름과 엄숙한 하늘의 빛이 드리워져 하나님의 참된 심판을 암시하고, 그의 완고한 표정은 회개하지 않는 마음이 장차 임할 진노를 쌓아 가고 있음을 보여 준다.
