Revelation 5 (vv. 4-5)

Overcome with grief, John weeps because no one has been found worthy to open the scroll. In the midst of his sorrow, one of the elders turns toward him and tells him not to weep, announcing that the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed and is able to open the scroll and its seals. The emotional center of the scene is the movement from despair to hope.

아무도 두루마리를 열 자격이 없다는 사실에 요한은 깊은 슬픔에 잠겨 울고 또 운다. 그때 장로 중 하나가 그에게 다가와 울지 말라고 하며, 유다 지파의 사자이시며 다윗의 뿌리이신 분이 이기셨으므로 그 두루마리와 봉인들을 열 수 있다고 선포한다. 이 장면의 감정적 중심은 절망에서 소망으로 옮겨가는 순간이다.
