Revelation 3 (vv. 1-3)

The church in Sardis is confronted by the one who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. Though the city and congregation appear active and alive, the deeper reality is spiritual death and unfinished obedience. The scene centers on a solemn warning to wake up, strengthen what remains, remember what was received, and repent before judgment comes suddenly like a thief in the night.

사데 교회는 하나님의 일곱 영과 일곱 별을 붙잡고 계신 이의 책망을 받는다. 도시와 공동체는 겉으로는 살아 있고 활동적인 것처럼 보이지만, 그 내면의 실상은 영적 죽음과 미완성의 순종이다. 이 장면은 남아 있는 것을 굳게 하고, 받은 말씀을 기억하며, 회개하라는 엄숙한 경고에 초점을 맞춘다. 그렇지 않으면 도둑같이 갑작스럽게 임할 심판이 다가온다.
