Revelation 2 (vv. 8-11)

The church in Smyrna is shown in poverty and suffering, yet spiritually rich before God. Believers face slander and the looming threat of imprisonment and death, but they are commanded not to fear. The visual center is the promise of the victor’s crown of life, shining above or beyond the prison shadows, expressing that faithfulness through suffering leads to eternal reward and victory over the second death.

서머나 교회는 가난과 환난 가운데 있지만 하나님 앞에서는 영적으로 부요한 공동체로 그려진다. 성도들은 비방을 당하고 감옥과 죽음의 위협 앞에 서 있지만 두려워하지 말라는 명령을 받는다. 장면의 중심에는 감옥의 어둠 너머로 빛나는 생명의 면류관이 있어, 고난 속에서도 충성하는 자에게 영원한 상급과 둘째 사망을 이기는 승리가 약속되었음을 보여준다.
