Description

A heavenly voice calls God's people to leave Babylon so they will not share in her sins or plagues. The city's guilt is pictured as rising up to heaven, and her proud self-exaltation is contrasted with the judgment now appointed for her. She who boasted like a queen will face death, mourning, famine, and fire in a single day.
