Revelation 13 (vv. 1-2)

John sees the dragon standing on the seashore as a monstrous beast rises from the turbulent sea. The beast has ten horns crowned with royal diadems and seven heads marked with blasphemous names. Its appearance combines the features of a leopard, a bear, and a lion, emphasizing unnatural and terrifying power. The dragon gives this beast its power, throne, and authority, making the moment one of dark coronation and counterfeit sovereignty.

요한은 바닷가에 서 있는 용을 보고, 거친 바다에서 괴물 같은 짐승이 올라오는 환상을 본다. 그 짐승은 열 뿔에 왕관을 쓰고 있으며, 일곱 머리마다 신성을 모독하는 이름이 적혀 있다. 그 모습은 표범과 같고, 곰의 발과 사자의 입을 지녀 비정상적이고 두려운 권세를 드러낸다. 용은 그 짐승에게 능력과 왕좌와 큰 권세를 주며, 이 장면은 어둠의 대관식이자 거짓 주권의 수여를 보여 준다.
