Revelation 1 (vv. 17-20)

Overcome by the vision, John falls at the feet of the risen Lord as though dead. The glorious figure gently places his right hand on him and speaks comfort and authority: he is the First and the Last, the Living One who died and now lives forever, holding the keys of death and Hades, and he explains the mystery of the stars and lampstands while commissioning John to write.

그 환상에 압도된 요한은 죽은 자처럼 주님의 발 앞에 엎드러진다. 영화로운 주님은 오른손을 그에게 얹으시며 위로와 권세의 말씀을 하신다. 그는 처음과 마지막이요, 전에 죽었으나 이제 영원히 살아 계신 이이며, 사망과 음부의 열쇠를 가지고 계신다. 또한 별과 등잔대의 비밀을 설명하시며 요한에게 기록하라고 명하신다.
