Psalm 88 (vv. 1-2)

The psalm opens with the speaker calling on the Lord as the only source of salvation. He stands in continual prayer, crying day and night, pleading that his prayer would rise before God and that God would listen. The scene is powerful because it combines desperation with stubborn faith: even in anguish, the psalmist still turns toward heaven.
