Psalm 82 (vv. 1)

The psalm opens with a majestic courtroom scene. God presides over a great heavenly assembly and renders judgment among the earthly and spiritual rulers called 'gods.' The focus is not on God's face, but on His overwhelming authority filling the chamber with radiant light as the assembled figures stand in tense silence before divine justice.
