Psalm 68 (vv. 1-4)

The psalm opens with a dramatic vision of God rising in power. His enemies are scattered like smoke driven by the wind and like wax melting before fire, while the righteous stand secure and rejoice. The scene contrasts terror and joy: the wicked vanish before divine holiness, but the faithful sing and celebrate before the Lord who rides upon the clouds.

시편은 하나님께서 권능으로 일어나시는 극적인 환상으로 시작된다. 하나님의 원수들은 바람에 흩어지는 연기처럼, 불 앞에서 녹는 밀랍처럼 사라진다. 반면 의인들은 안전하게 서서 기뻐한다. 이 장면은 공포와 기쁨을 대조한다. 악인들은 하나님의 거룩하심 앞에서 사라지지만, 신실한 자들은 구름을 타고 오시는 여호와 앞에서 노래하며 즐거워한다.
