Psalm 59 (vv. 5-7)

As evening deepens, David’s enemies circle the city and his house like snarling dogs. Their menace is expressed not through direct violence but through restless movement, suspicious glances, and mouths open in mocking speech. Their words are imagined as sword-like, filling the night air with threat, while they assume no one hears them.
