Psalm 58 (vv. 6-7)

The psalm shifts into a fierce prayer for judgment, asking God to break the teeth of the wicked and make their attacks powerless. The scene combines two poetic images: lion-like predators rendered harmless and archers whose arrows fall short before reaching their target. Instead of graphic violence, divine intervention is suggested through a sudden beam of heavenly light and a storm-laden sky, while weapons lose their force and the threat collapses.
