Psalm 44 (vv. 23-26)

The psalm reaches its climax in an urgent plea for divine intervention. The people lie brought down to the dust, their bodies pressed to the ground, crying out for God to awake, rise up, and help them. Though God seems hidden, the final appeal rests on unfailing love, and the scene is charged with desperate hope breaking through despair.

시편은 하나님의 개입을 간절히 구하는 절정에 이른다. 백성은 먼지 속에 엎드려 몸이 땅에 붙은 채 하나님께 깨어나시고 일어나 도와 달라고 부르짖는다. 하나님은 얼굴을 숨기신 듯 보이지만, 마지막 호소는 변함없는 사랑에 근거하며 절망을 뚫고 나오는 절박한 소망으로 가득하다.
