Psalm 42 (vv. 3)

The psalmist is consumed by grief so constant that his tears have become his food day and night. Around him, voices of unbelief and mockery press in, asking again and again, “Where is your God?” The scene should portray isolation, emotional exhaustion, and the cruelty of taunting words that deepen spiritual pain.
