Psalm 30 (vv. 1-3)

David stands at the edge of a dark pit, having just been drawn up from danger and death. His posture is one of astonished gratitude as he looks upward toward the divine source of his rescue. The scene captures the psalm’s opening testimony: the LORD has lifted him out of the depths, healed him, and spared him from descending into the grave while his enemies are left unable to triumph over him.
