Psalm 2 (vv. 1-3)

The opening scene shows the rulers of many nations gathered in tense alliance, plotting together against the LORD and his anointed. Kings, counselors, and warriors stand in a stone council court, gesturing over maps and weapons, their faces marked by pride and determination. Their words about breaking chains and throwing off shackles are represented visually not as literal imprisonment, but as symbolic bronze yokes and broken cords laid before them, showing their rejection of divine authority. The atmosphere is charged with rebellion, but also with futility, as their plans are small beneath the vast sky.

첫 장면은 여러 나라의 통치자들이 긴장된 동맹을 이루어 함께 모여 여호와와 그의 기름 부음 받은 이를 대적하여 꾀하는 모습을 보여 준다. 왕들과 조언자들, 전사들이 돌로 된 회의 뜰에 서서 지도와 무기 위로 손짓하며 의논하고 있고, 그들의 얼굴에는 교만과 결의가 서려 있다. 사슬을 끊고 멍에를 벗어 던지자는 그들의 말은 문자 그대로의 감금이 아니라, 눈앞에 놓인 상징적인 청동 멍에와 끊어진 줄로 표현되어 하나님의 권위를 거부하는 뜻을 드러낸다. 분위기는 반역의 긴장으로 가득하지만, 동시에 그들의 계획이 광대한 하늘 아래 얼마나 헛된지도 암시한다.
