Psalm 134 (vv. 2-3)

The worshipers lift their hands toward the sanctuary in an act of praise, their bodies turned toward the holy place in unified devotion. The moment is both earthly and heavenly: human hands rise from Zion, and divine blessing seems to descend in response. The sanctuary glows with sacred light, suggesting the LORD’s presence without depicting Him directly. Above and beyond the temple, the scene hints at the Maker of heaven and earth through the vast sky and the elevated hill of Zion. The image captures the exchange at the heart of the psalm: worship ascending from God’s servants and blessing flowing back from the LORD.

예배자들은 찬양의 행위로 성소를 향해 두 손을 들고, 한마음으로 거룩한 곳을 향해 몸을 돌리고 있다. 이 순간은 땅의 장면이면서 동시에 하늘의 장면이다. 사람의 손은 시온에서 위로 들려 올라가고, 이에 응답하듯 하나님의 복이 내려오는 듯하다. 성소는 거룩한 빛으로 빛나며, 하나님의 얼굴을 직접 묘사하지 않으면서도 그 임재를 암시한다. 성전 너머로 펼쳐진 넓은 하늘과 높이 솟은 시온의 언덕은 천지를 지으신 이를 은근히 드러낸다. 이 장면은 시편의 핵심을 담아낸다. 하나님의 종들에게서 예배가 올라가고, 여호와께로부터 복이 다시 흘러내린다.
