Psalm 12 (vv. 3-4)

The psalm turns from sorrow to confrontation as arrogant speakers exalt their own words. A group of powerful men stand in public confidence, their faces proud and their gestures forceful, as if declaring that their speech alone secures victory and that no authority stands above them. The image should convey the danger of verbal pride and rebellion against divine rule, not through violence but through posture, expression, and oppressive atmosphere.

시편은 슬픔에서 대결의 장면으로 옮겨 간다. 교만한 말하는 자들은 자기들의 말을 높이며 공공연히 자랑한다. 권세 있는 몇몇 남자들이 공개된 장소에 서서, 마치 자기들의 혀만으로 승리할 수 있고 자신들 위에는 아무 권위도 없다고 선언하는 듯한 표정과 몸짓을 보인다. 이 이미지는 폭력이 아니라 자세와 표정, 그리고 눌리는 듯한 분위기를 통해 언어의 교만과 하나님의 통치에 대한 반역의 위험을 드러내야 한다.
