Psalm 114 (vv. 1-2)

A great company of Israelites departs from Egypt, leaving behind a land of foreign speech and oppression. Families, elders, children, and flocks move together across the edge of the desert, carrying bundles and tools, while the sense grows that this people now belongs to the holy presence of God.
