Psalm 107 (vv. 17-22)

Those afflicted by their own sinful ways lie weak and near death, unable even to bear food. The atmosphere is heavy with sickness and regret, as if they stand at the edge of the grave. When they cry to the LORD, healing comes through his word: life returns, faces regain color, and the shadow of death recedes. The scene ends with the beginnings of thanksgiving, suggesting songs of joy and offerings of gratitude.

자신들의 죄악된 길로 인해 고난을 당한 자들이 죽음 가까이에 누워 있으며, 음식조차 싫어할 만큼 쇠약해져 있다. 무덤의 문턱에 선 듯한 병과 후회의 무거운 분위기가 감돈다. 그들이 여호와께 부르짖을 때, 그분의 말씀을 통해 치유가 임하고 생기가 돌아오며 얼굴에 다시 혈색이 돌고 죽음의 그림자가 물러간다. 장면은 감사의 제사와 기쁨의 노래가 시작되는 모습으로 이어진다.
