Psalm 1 (vv. 4-6)

In sharp contrast to the rooted tree, the wicked are portrayed as weightless chaff swept across a threshing floor by a fierce wind. A stormy sky and rising dust create a sense of instability and coming judgment. In the distance or upper portion of the scene, a radiant, faceless sign of the LORD's presence breaks through the clouds as light, watching over the way of the righteous while exposing the emptiness of the wicked path. The righteous stand firm together at one side, while the way of the wicked fades into a barren, broken landscape leading to destruction.

뿌리 깊은 나무와 극명하게 대조되게, 악인은 타작마당 위에서 거센 바람에 흩날리는 가벼운 겨처럼 묘사된다. 먹구름 낀 하늘과 치솟는 먼지는 불안정함과 다가오는 심판의 분위기를 만든다. 장면의 먼 배경이나 위쪽에는 구름을 가르며 비추는 빛으로 여호와의 임재가 얼굴 없이 나타나, 의인의 길을 지켜보시고 악인의 길의 공허함을 드러낸다. 한쪽에는 의인들이 굳게 서 있고, 악인의 길은 메마르고 무너진 황량한 땅으로 사라지며 결국 멸망으로 이어진다.
