Proverbs 28 (vv. 19-20, 22, 25, 27)

A faithful farmer works his land diligently under the sun while nearby another person, driven by greed, turns away from the needy and clutches a money bag. In the center, a generous householder extends bread and grain to a poor family, and the surrounding field is full, golden, and ready for harvest. The contrast is clear: honest labor, trust in the LORD, and generosity lead to abundance and peace, while stinginess and restless hunger for wealth lead toward emptiness. The scene gathers several proverbs into one image of moral economy and covenantal blessing.

한 충실한 농부가 햇빛 아래에서 부지런히 자기 밭을 일구고 있는 반면, 가까이에서는 탐욕에 이끌린 다른 사람이 가난한 이들을 외면한 채 돈주머니를 움켜쥐고 있다. 중앙에는 후한 집주인이 가난한 가족에게 빵과 곡식을 내밀고 있으며, 주변의 들판은 황금빛으로 가득 차 수확할 준비가 되어 있다. 대조는 분명하다. 정직한 수고와 여호와를 신뢰함과 관대함은 풍요와 평안을 낳지만, 인색함과 부를 향한 불안한 욕망은 결국 공허함으로 이끈다. 이 장면은 여러 잠언을 하나의 이미지 속에 모아 도덕적 질서와 언약의 복을 보여 준다.
