Proverbs 15 (vv. 8-11)

The scene is divided between two acts of worship. In the foreground, an upright person kneels in humble prayer with empty hands lifted, while soft light descends upon them. In contrast, a wealthy but wicked figure stands beside an elaborate offering, yet the smoke drifts away into darkened air, suggesting divine displeasure. Beyond them, a shadowed valley and distant tomb-like caves hint that even death and destruction lie open before the LORD. The image emphasizes that God sees beyond outward ritual into the true condition of the heart.
