Obadiah 1 (vv. 1-2)

Obadiah’s vision opens with a divine summons against Edom. An envoy has gone out among the nations, calling them to rise for battle, while the Sovereign LORD announces that proud Edom will be made small and despised among the peoples. The scene should capture the tension of a message spreading across kingdoms, with heaven’s authority pressing down upon earthly politics.
