Numbers 5 (vv. 1-4)

Moses relays the LORD’s command that anyone made ceremonially unclean by skin disease, bodily discharge, or contact with a dead body must be sent outside the camp. Men and women alike are led beyond the ordered tents of Israel so that the camp, where the LORD dwells among His people, remains holy. The scene contrasts the sacred order of the camp with the sorrowful separation of those temporarily excluded.
