Numbers 33 (vv. 47-49)

After many stages, the Israelites finally camp on the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho. This is a scene of anticipation: the wandering is nearly over, and the promised land lies just beyond the river. The encampment stretches across the plain, showing a people poised between memory and fulfillment.
