Numbers 29 (vv. 1-6)

On the first day of the seventh month, Israel gathers in a sacred assembly and ceases from ordinary labor. Priests stand near the altar and sound trumpets across the camp, marking the holy day. Nearby, the prescribed offerings are prepared: a young bull, a ram, seven spotless lambs, and a male goat, along with measured grain offerings of fine flour mixed with oil. The scene combines ceremonial order, communal reverence, and the rising smoke of offerings presented as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

일곱째 달 첫째 날, 이스라엘은 거룩한 성회로 모이고 일상적인 일을 멈춘다. 제사장들은 제단 가까이에 서서 진영 전체에 울려 퍼지도록 나팔을 불어 이 거룩한 날을 알린다. 가까운 곳에서는 규정된 제물들, 곧 어린 수소 한 마리와 숫양 한 마리와 흠 없는 어린 숫양 일곱 마리와 숫염소 한 마리, 그리고 기름 섞은 고운 가루의 소제가 정해진 분량대로 준비된다. 이 장면은 질서 있는 예식, 공동체의 경건함, 그리고 여호와께 향기로운 제사로 올라가는 연기를 함께 보여 준다.
