Description
The Canaanite king of Arad attacks Israel in the Negev and captures some of the people, provoking a desperate response. Israel vows before the LORD that if He grants victory, they will devote the enemy cities to complete destruction. The LORD answers, and the scene culminates in Israel’s triumph over Arad, with ruined towns in the distance and the place receiving the name Hormah as a memorial of judgment and deliverance.
