Description
Before the assembled nation, Moses stands with Aaron at the rock and speaks in anger, calling the people rebels. Instead of simply speaking to the rock, he raises his staff and strikes it twice. Water bursts forth abundantly, enough for the people and their livestock, yet the miracle is overshadowed by disobedience, and the LORD declares that Moses and Aaron will not lead the people into the promised land.
