Numbers 19 (vv. 7-10)

After the burning, those involved wash their clothes and bodies, yet remain unclean until evening. A ceremonially clean man carefully gathers the ashes and stores them in a clean place outside the camp for the future water of cleansing. The scene highlights the paradox of sacred impurity: even those who prepare purification must themselves pass through uncleanness before restoration.
