Numbers 14 (vv. 1-4)

In the darkness of night, the entire Israelite community erupts in loud weeping and bitter complaint. Men and women gather among the tents, raising their hands in despair, while voices accuse Moses and Aaron and call for a new leader to take them back to Egypt. The scene captures collective fear, faithlessness, and the emotional collapse of a people standing on the edge of promise yet longing to return to bondage.
