Nehemiah 5 (vv. 12-13)

The nobles agree to restore what they have taken, and Nehemiah summons the priests to make their promise binding. In a vivid symbolic act, he shakes out the folds of his robe and pronounces that anyone who breaks this pledge may be shaken out by God from house and possessions. The whole assembly answers 'Amen' and praises the LORD, turning a moment of public shame into covenant renewal and communal obedience.
