Description
Because the work is spread out, Nehemiah keeps the trumpeter beside him and instructs the people to gather at the sound of the horn, trusting that God will fight for them. From dawn until the stars appear, the labor continues, and at night the workers remain inside Jerusalem as guards. The final image is one of relentless readiness: even in ordinary moments, they keep their weapons close.
