Description
Nehemiah finally reveals his purpose to the Jews, priests, nobles, and officials. Standing amid the visible ruins of Jerusalem, he calls them to rebuild the wall so that they will no longer live in disgrace. He testifies to God’s gracious hand and the king’s support, and the people answer with unity and determination: they will begin the good work.
