Nehemiah 13 (vv. 4-9)

After returning to Jerusalem, Nehemiah discovers that Eliashib the priest has given Tobiah a large chamber inside the temple courts, a room that had once held sacred offerings and supplies. Outraged by this desecration, Nehemiah orders Tobiah's household goods thrown out of the chamber. The room is then purified and restored for the proper service of the house of God, with temple vessels, grain offerings, and incense returned to their rightful place.

예루살렘으로 돌아온 느헤미야는 제사장 엘리아십이 성전 뜰 안의 큰 방을 도비야에게 내어주었다는 사실을 발견한다. 그 방은 원래 거룩한 예물과 물품을 보관하던 곳이었다. 이 모독에 분노한 느헤미야는 도비야의 집기들을 방 밖으로 내던지게 한다. 그 후 그 방은 정결하게 되고, 성전 기구와 곡식 제물과 향이 본래 있어야 할 자리로 다시 돌아온다.
