Micah 1 (vv. 10-12)

The prophecy turns into a procession of afflicted towns, each marked by grief, humiliation, or helplessness. One settlement sits in dust, another passes by in shame, another remains trapped behind closed doors, while mourning spreads from place to place. The people of Maroth writhe in anxious expectation, longing for relief that does not come, because disaster has reached the gate of Jerusalem. The scene gathers many local sorrows into one sweeping image of communal collapse.
