Micah 1 (vv. 8-9)

In response to the incurable wound of Samaria and its spread toward Judah, Micah himself becomes part of the message. He walks barefoot and stripped of outer dignity in a public act of mourning, crying out like a jackal and moaning like an owl. The prophet’s grief is not theatrical but deeply personal: he sees the disaster moving toward the very gate of Jerusalem, and his body, voice, and posture embody the sorrow of a nation on the brink.
