Matthew 26 (vv. 1-5)

After telling his disciples that the Passover is near and that he will be handed over to be crucified, Jesus sets the tone of approaching destiny. In contrast, the chief priests and elders gather in the palace of Caiaphas, the high priest, where they quietly scheme to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him, while fearing public unrest during the festival.

예수께서는 제자들에게 유월절이 가까웠고 자신이 십자가에 못 박히도록 넘겨질 것이라고 말씀하시며 다가오는 운명을 드러내신다. 그와 대조적으로 대제사장 가야바의 궁에서는 chief priests와 장로들이 은밀히 모여 예수를 몰래 잡아 죽일 계략을 꾸미지만, 명절 동안 백성의 소요가 일어날까 두려워한다.
