Matthew 21 (vv. 1-11)

As Jesus approaches Jerusalem from Bethphage near the Mount of Olives, the disciples bring him a donkey and its colt just as he instructed. Cloaks are laid over the animals, and Jesus rides in gentle humility rather than military power. A vast crowd spreads garments and palm branches on the road, shouting messianic praise as the city begins to stir with wonder and questions about who he is.
