Mark 9 (vv. 14-24)

Descending from the mountain, Jesus finds a crowd gathered around his disciples and teachers of the law in argument. A desperate father brings forward his son, who is tormented by a spirit that robs him of speech and throws him into convulsions. In the midst of public tension and private anguish, the father cries out one of the chapter’s most human prayers: 'I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!'

산에서 내려오신 예수께서는 제자들과 서기관들 주위에 모인 큰 무리와 논쟁을 보십니다. 한 절박한 아버지가 말을 못 하게 만드는 영에게 시달리는 아들을 데리고 나옵니다. 공적인 긴장과 사적인 고통이 뒤섞인 가운데, 그 아버지는 이 장에서 가장 인간적인 기도 중 하나를 외칩니다. '내가 믿나이다. 나의 믿음 없는 것을 도와주소서!'
