Mark 6 (vv. 30-34)

After the apostles return and report their work, Jesus leads them by boat to a solitary place for rest. But the crowds run ahead and gather before him, and when he steps ashore he sees them as sheep without a shepherd. The scene captures Jesus’ deep compassion as he turns from rest to teaching, surrounded by a vast, expectant multitude in the open countryside.

사도들이 돌아와 자신들이 행한 일을 보고한 뒤, 예수님은 그들을 쉬게 하시려고 배를 타고 한적한 곳으로 가신다. 그러나 무리가 먼저 달려와 모여들고, 예수님은 그들을 목자 없는 양처럼 여기시며 깊은 긍휼을 느끼신다. 이 장면은 쉬려던 계획을 내려놓고 들판에 모인 큰 무리를 가르치시는 예수님의 자비를 보여 준다.
