Mark 5 (vv. 21-24)

After crossing back over the lake, Jesus is surrounded by a large crowd on the shore. Into this pressing mass comes Jairus, a synagogue leader, a respected man now undone by desperation. He falls at Jesus’ feet and pleads for his dying little daughter, asking Jesus to come and lay hands on her. The scene combines public urgency, paternal grief, and the fragile hope that drives Jairus toward Jesus.
