Mark 2 (vv. 15-17)

At Levi’s house, Jesus reclines at table with tax collectors, sinners, and his disciples in a scene of unexpected fellowship. The room is alive with conversation, shared bread, and the warmth of welcome. Outside the circle of table fellowship, the teachers of the law who are Pharisees question why Jesus would eat with such people. Jesus answers with a memorable image: the healthy do not need a doctor, but the sick do. The scene highlights mercy confronting social exclusion.
