Description
After seeing the faith of the men and the paralytic, Jesus speaks first not of healing but of forgiveness. Around him, teachers of the law sit in silent judgment, disturbed by what they believe is blasphemy. Jesus exposes their hidden thoughts and then commands the man to rise, take his mat, and walk. In full view of the stunned crowd, the man stands and carries his mat out of the house, while amazement and praise sweep through the room.
설명
예수께서는 중풍병자와 그를 데려온 사람들의 믿음을 보시고 먼저 병 고침이 아니라 죄 사함을 선언하신다. 그 곁에는 율법학자들이 앉아 속으로 신성모독이라 여기며 판단하고 있다. 예수께서는 그들의 숨은 생각을 드러내신 뒤 그 사람에게 일어나 자리를 들고 가라고 명하신다. 놀란 군중이 지켜보는 가운데 그 사람은 일어나 자기 자리를 들고 집 밖으로 걸어 나가고, 온 방 안은 경이와 하나님을 향한 찬양으로 가득 찬다.
