Description
Jesus is brought before the high priest and the assembled Sanhedrin, where false witnesses fail to agree in their accusations. When asked directly whether he is the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One, Jesus answers plainly and speaks of the Son of Man seated at the right hand of power and coming with the clouds of heaven. His words provoke outrage, and the council condemns him, while mockery and abuse begin around his silent dignity.
