Malachi 2 (vv. 1-3)

The prophet delivers a severe warning to the priests who have failed to honor the name of the LORD. In the temple court, men in priestly garments stand under judgment as the blessing once spoken over the people turns into a curse. The rebuke is vivid and humiliating: the filth of their own sacrifices becomes a sign of their disgrace, showing that their outward ritual has become inward corruption.

선지자는 여호와의 이름을 영화롭게 하지 않은 제사장들에게 엄중한 경고를 선포한다. 성전 뜰에서 제사장 옷을 입은 이들이 심판 아래 서 있고, 한때 백성 위에 선포되던 축복은 저주로 바뀐다. 책망은 생생하고 수치스럽다. 그들이 드린 제사의 더러움이 오히려 그들의 치욕의 표징이 되어, 겉으로 드리는 의식이 속의 부패로 바뀌었음을 드러낸다.
