Luke 8 (vv. 49-56)

After news arrives that Jairus's daughter has died, Jesus tells the grieving father not to fear but to believe. Inside the house, amid mourning and disbelief, Jesus takes the girl's hand and calls her to rise. Her spirit returns, she stands up at once, and astonishment fills the room as death gives way to life and quiet wonder.

야이로의 딸이 죽었다는 소식이 전해진 뒤, 예수께서는 슬픔에 잠긴 아버지에게 두려워하지 말고 믿기만 하라고 말씀하신다. 집 안에서는 곡하는 사람들과 믿지 못하는 분위기 속에서 예수께서 소녀의 손을 잡고 일어나라고 부르신다. 그러자 그녀의 영이 돌아와 즉시 일어나고, 방 안은 죽음을 이기고 생명이 임한 놀라움과 고요한 경이로 가득 찬다.
